Home Work Programme/Computer Lab

In 2004, the Boulevard Baptist Church established a Computer Lab with eight computers. This was an effort to enhance the programme that the Church in association with HEART/NTA was offering. This ministry was managed by the Boulevard’s Outreach Committee, under the leadership of Sis. Veronica Beckford. Later Computer Skills, as a core subject, was added to the programme and HEART/NTA made a gift of two computers. Boulevard Baptist Church continued to equip the Computer Lab until it grew to fifteen computers. This enabled the programme to reach a greater number of students.

In 2005 the Universal Access Fund was established under the ministerial leadership of the Honourable Phillip Paulwell. Boulevard Baptist Church is now making greater effort to equip more persons with computer skills, which is being enabled through a partnership with Universal Access Fund Ltd. that has donated twenty new computers under their Internet Access Programme. In 2011, our Pastor made contact with Hugh Cross, Managing Director of Universal Access Training who was very receptive and helpful and by January 2012 the computers were installed. Through this partnership the Lab will be made available to persons in the surrounding communities and also to students from other schools through the planned Homework Centre Programme.

The vision of both Boulevard Baptist Church and Universal Access Fund Ltd. is to provide Internet Access to as many persons as possible.
